Can't get Norwegian language to work

I have just installed Gallery versions 2.3. When I select Norwegian (Norsk Bokmål) as a language nothing happens (the language is still English). I have checked the FAQ. Doing a "locale -a" indicates that the required language is installed (I can see no_NO and no_NO.iso88591 (and also nn_NO and nn_NO.iso88591). Support for gettext is also present (I have a Joomla! installation on the same server and the Norwegian locale works OK).

Any ideas?

Where are you selecting the language? Have you double checked your account settings?

Hi! I have set the language in Site Admin -> Language Settings (I have unchecked "Check Browser Preference"). I also see that the language is set for all users except "Guest" (Site Admin -> Users -> <username>. In all cases the language has been set to "Norsk Bokmål", but no luck, the active language is always English.

I think it might be a combination of Gallery and the browser. It appears to work when browsing in IE, but not in FF...

You might want to take a look at G3. The translation system is much better and overall G3 is much better. It's not in final release yet, but getting closer.

Thanks for looking into this! I will definitely look into G3 (I am still a few weeks from needing the gallery in production site). Anyway, G2 is the best gallery solution I have tested so far (but support for my local language is an absolute requirement).

Yeah, I don't know what's going on. I can change the German just fine, but not your language.
