Hi All,
Have been giving B3 a workout on my Windows 2008 Server running IIS 7 and PHP 5.2.x in FastCGI mode, and I have to say I've been very impressed. Despite Windows and IIS not being on the supported list the only notable issue I've experienced to date is that G3 B3 doesn't seem to want to detect my ImageMagick install depite it being in the PATH variable and having added it manually to photo.php and movie.php.
Having my entire personal photo collection over the past 4 years invested in Gallery 2, it is of some concern to me that Windows (even if not IIS) is not to be supported going forward with G3. Unfortunately for me I have several other applications/services tied to the Windows architecture, so moving to a *nix system is not an option. I imagine that the G3 devs didn't decide to go from G2 which runs on pretty much anything that can proccess PHP to limiting support for G3 to *nix and Apache 2.2 on a whim, so I was just wondering what sort of Windows specific considerations there were when developing G3 that were enough to warrant excluding it?
I cannot migrate to *nix/Apache just for G3, so my hope is that if the issues around supporting a Windows environment can be formulated into some sort of list then I (and hopefully other Gallery users on Windows) can sponsor the development of a sister project or patch of some sort to get at least the core functionality working on Windows.
Does this seem feasible? Any of your other Gallery/Windows users interested in something like this?

If you want to use other image tools than GD, download WHICH for windows
I use it on Windows Server 2003 R2 with no problems.
Just remember to install the image tools in the root folder as it doesn't work with folders that contains spaces ie "Program Files"
