Gallery directory - Excessive Size after upgrade ?

I just upgraded my Gallery from v1 to v2 (latest) and my /gallery/ folder is 119MB in size .. which seems excessive since the albums folder is on the root of my server. Upgrade went perfectly, now I'm wondering what I can clean up to reduce the size of that folder. Suggestions ? |

There isn't a direct upgrade from G1 to G2. Did you install G2 into the same directory G1 was? G2's code base is also a lot larger than G1.

sorry, yes, I installed G2 into the same directory as G1 was in ... then imported the G1 albums.
Everything works great, the "gallery" folder just seemed to be excessive in size now.

Yeah, separating them out is going to be a pain. First BACKUP EVERYTHING There you've been warned
Second, where is your g2data directory? That is where G2 stores it's images and albums now. The "albums" directory that G1 used is no longer used at all and can be removed (or renamed for testing if you don't want to delete).
Let me know where you put your g2data directory and we can proceed from there. Is it in the same directory as Gallery or above your webroot as suggested?

my g2data_fsc folder is in "/gallery/g2data_fsc/"
I deleted the original "albums" folder that G! used once I realized all the pic are now inside the "gallery" folder.

If you want to move them out of there follow this:

If you want to remove all the old G1 stuff, I'd suggest doing that first as it will be easier to remove G1 that way.
