Best 'Certified' Gallery2 Host - big gallery/large daily usage/ dedicated is okay

I've noticed that the list of certified hosts on the front page of gallery is VERY old. I have a large gallery, 1000-2000 pictures added/moved/ and eventually deleted a day I'd like personal recommendations of hosts based on personal experience, we all know that what hosts put on their sites isn't always the way it really is. It must be managed ... I do NOT want to manage an entire linux web box. Been down that road, too much work, don't have the time, or emotional fortitude. We're currently on a VPS, and gallery broke down 5 times yesterday alone .. supposedly for 'premature script header' failures that consumed all resources. It makes no sense to me .. it's JUST GALLERY. ANyway ... dedicated host ... personal recommendations please. |

You might want to look at Pair's non-shared hosting options as I'm not sure you'd quite fit into one of their shared hosting plans. I'd also suggest taking a look at ithought.org, contact him and tell him your requirements. As for big time, large scale hosts, Pair is one of, if not, the best. They host extremely large sites that get linked to from slashdot. They use to host Tom's Hardware until that site got purchased by some media company. They can handle pretty much anything tossed at them, period. Their support and customer service is top notch, world class.
iThought's support is also top notch and world class, it's also personal.
He has invested in high quality hardware, that's in a quality colo and he knows his stuff.
Of course it also depends on what you're hosting. Pair won't host porn, I'm pretty sure iThought won't either
You didn't mention anything about how much traffic you're getting, how many users (registered users), how prolific different permission settings are in G2, etc.
I did find an old post of yours that mentions restricted login only, so if you could give more info about your setup, numbers of users, do you have a bunch of different permissions setup, etc. Do you apply permissions to photos or just albums? Do you apply permissions to individual users or is any registered user able to see everything or something in between?
I'm betting there's some tweaking that can be done. I don't see any mention of VPS at Singlehop's site which makes me think you're going through a reseller. I've never seen anyone have good luck doing that.
