Dupal dropping Gallery2 Module?

	Hello - I used Gallery in the past and was just about to install it on a new Drupal 6 site. In looking at the Gallery module for Drupal, though, there's now a note posted that the Gallery module is marked as abandoned as of 10/8/09. (Link is here http://drupal.org/node/586782). Is this the case? Does anyone know who the developer was for this site, and perhaps get some folks rallied around this? I don't know much in the way of PHP, so I can't do the coding help... Thanks...

	Seems to me it was originally valiant or mindless. -s FlashYourWeb and Your Gallery with The E2 XML Media Player for Gallery2
