Have just installed Gallery and am trying to learn the ropes.
Things seem fine except for these missing thumbnail images.
I'm seeing this broken image link on my gallery main and album pages - even though the images exist and are displayed on their own and in slideshow.
I tried running the Build all thumbnails/resizes in Maintenance, and got a page full of errors.
My setup is:
Gallery URL = http://nunovo.org.uk/gallery/main.php
Gallery version = 2.3 core 1.3.0
API = Core 7.54, Module 3.9, Theme 2.6, Embed 1.5
PHP version = 5.2.5 cgi
Webserver = Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635.SR1.2 mod_ssl/2.8.31 OpenSSL/0.9.8b PHP-CGI/0.4mm
Database = mysqlt 5.0.77mm0.1-log, lock.system=flock

I have had the same problem, turn of square thumbnails solved it.

Fixed it!
It's the plugin/module called Square Thumbnails.
It's at Site Admin | Plugins | Admin Plugins
(e.g. main.php?g2_view=core.SiteAdmin&g2_subView=core.AdminPlugins)
I disabled it and the thumbnails for my collections and albums all showed up!
