I had an unfortunate need to switch a hosting provider and have to install G3 from scratch. Which source I should use? Do I have to have database installed or is the installation code has a script to setup the database?
Thanks, but my memory has failed to remember on how I did it in the first place. Is there a documentation?
Thanks WBarek

You need to create the database.

Use the experimental version.

Thanks nivekiam, I did figure it out and everything went smoothly. I have one question regarding will there be a module for exporting/importing g3 as a xml so you can recreate yhe gallery in cases you can't restore backups? This would be similar to WordPress export/import module with which I was able to recreate sevarl years of blogs, images, comments when I had to sign on another host provider. I had a backup of my databases but as you are perhaps aware, you can't recreate the same name databases or links, so you endup with lot of conflicts. The export/import worked like charm, but I spent 2 days sweating it out and learning it the hard way. Tx William

I don't think it's planned. I'd trust a dump of MySQL over a xml backup any day though. If you want a reliable backup, IMO, backup your database:
There are instructions here how to do that:
