Server Add Problem involving square brackets

Hi, I've downloaded both the stable release and the unstable (gallery-gallery3-e13f92a) release, and I'm encountering the same problem. I had originally written a huge essay detailing the problem, but it seems that I've partially solved it. I have my photos sorted out in categorical order on the server, which goes pretty deep (C:\photos\2009\panasonic\lx3\(_April_)\museum\ ), and I've tried server adding from photos, and then when it failed, from 2009, etc, going down. I can verify that all my filenames and folder names are free from spaces, unicode foreign languages, and are alphanumeric with the exception of dashes and underscores. The problem I encountered is that server add will not add photos that are contained in folders that have square brackets, as in [04-19-2009][MetroZoo][PolarBearExhibit] but the round brackets and underscores are okay, as in (_April_). What can I do to resolve this problem? thanks |

I can't duplicate this.
I was able to create an album with brackets in the directory name and I was also able to add an album from Server Add where the directory has square brackets.
Are you taking about 3 different directories above or one directory?

I have verified it also does not work in linux ( windows not supported )

EDIT to make more clear:
o.k. It doesn't work fine for me. I don't know why I saw an image first, then don't know. One thing to note. I was about 1 day behind in git, so I updated after my first post.
I don't know if this is an Operating System/Environment issue or a bug in the code. A developer is going to need to look at this or someone with more experience at Linux than us
EDIT: and Dave has created a ticket so this issue can be tracked.

Sorry, I was talking about this scenario.
As I was in a bit of a rush, I managed to rename all the folders to parentheses rather than square brackets ... but hopefully that won't be the only solution to this problem.
