PHP 5 detection

Hello. I'm trying to install Gallery 3 in my hosting space at Godaddy. It is a Linux shared hosting account. They say it supports PHP 4 and the latest PHP5, at the same time.

When I try to use the Gallery 3 installer feature, it tells me I don't have PHP 5 support, which is not true.

Is there a way to improve the PHP detection?

I'm pretty sure, from reading other posts, that you're going to have other problems on GoDaddy's shared servers.

Actually, Godaddy support offered the solution. There is an option to change PHP version. Other people with the same problem may find this useful:

NOTE: This content only applies to our Linux shared hosting accounts running Hosting Configuration 2.0.

PHP is automatically added to your hosting account. However, you can choose the version you’d like to use.

To Change Your Default PHP Language

1. Log in to your Account Manager.

2. In the My Products section, select Hosting.

3. Next to the hosting account you want to modify, click Manage Account.

4. In the Content section of the Hosting Control Center, click the Add-On Languages icon.

5. Select PHP version you'd like to set as the default.

6. Click Continue.

7. Verify the listed changes, and then click Update.
