I could not see where this has been discussed elsewhere (making me think its MY fault!!) but here goes.
I just upgraded to latest (gallery-gallery3-2942152.zip) but no change in problem.
And it occurs with FF 3.0.15 but not with Chrome or IE8

When I initially launch the browser and enter the address for my gallery, the page comes up looking like the attached 'badpage' image with the thumbnails out of position (Night-Wind).
If I then click the Home tab, the page is rebuilt as shown in the 'fixedpage' image, which is correct posistioning.
In general, if I refresh with 'F5', the page is bad, if it gets rebuilt due to an onpage link, it looks correct. This goes for any page of photos or albums.

It also happens with my own theme, but I wanted to check this using all native code.
BTW: My thumbnails are smaller than the default settings (140px) and I have specified for 12 per page.

Try the 'wind' theme as the normal default theme instead of the night_wind theme.

Exactly the same behaviour with wind.

There is also something else associated with this behaviour - As the page is received into the browser, for about 1/2 second it displays in the window as though there is NO style applied, then suddenly it changes. This also occurs with all themes, but never on Chrome or IE8, just FF 3.0.15.

FYI

I have not been able to recreate this problem on any other systems than the one that also houses the DB and Apache. So assume this is some sort of interlock/overload on the system itself. Of course that does not explain Chrome and IE8 working ok.

I'm betting it's some file didn't get overwritten or there are multiples of the same file (due to moving things around) and Kohana is grabbing the wrong file (the old one)

Grab the latest experimental code and follow the tips for unpacking the code on this page to ensure you don't have any old files laying around in your install:

Been out of town a few days and just got back.
Did what you suggested and created a brand new empty gallery3 folder, copied in latest exp version, then copied over the var folder and my one theme folder. Didn't bother with any of the additional modules.

Results are exactly the same.
When I run the browser on the same machine as apache and mysql etc it does this only with FF.
If I access that same gallery3 from a different system (on my local lan) don't have the problem.

I guess a URL will not help anyway

If you can reliably reproduce this where we can see it please let us know.
