I have a managed web site, and know little about setting up Gallery myself. My photo gallery is at http://photos.incaprera.com/gallery, if that helps. My ISP provided me with a patch to my XP system many MANY months ago that allowed me to upload photos to my Gallery using XP's "Publish this folder to the Web" button, but the info they gave me was informal, word-of-mouth. It has continued to work until last week, when I upgraded to Windows 7. The issue isn't Win7 (although I gather that there *is* a change, based on web searches I have done) ... rather, I don't know what to do on my client PC to re-build the link. The web site should still be good to go. Can someone tell me what the steps are at the client end? I expect I will have registry keys, and must also know the userid/password for my Gallery setup.

The installation is Gallery 2, not sure which sub-release, but I don't expect that to affect the client PC's setup.

Thanks!

Actually, that is the issue. Gallery 2 was started, created and completed before Win7 was even a glint in Microsoft's eyes. o.k. So they were working on it when 2.3 was being worked on, but that's it. There is no known hack on how to get this working on Win7. The hack for Vista was just that, a hack at best.

You're going to need to use another method to upload your images, here are you choices:

Hmm ... Thanks for the reply, and you are probably right; but I just can't leave without trying this: I managed to resurrect an image of the old PC using a backup, and found the relevant registry entries. With just one change to the path, a change that I saw suggested as the Vista hack, I now have my Gallery site as one of the "Order Prints" options on my Win7 PC. However, in order to test this I need the userid/password for my Gallery account. (My old system had it cached for many months, and I guess I didn't keep it. I have an EMail in to the ISP that manages my web site, asking them for the pw.) They set up Gallery on their host system, so they should have a master pw at the least.

Assuming that uou are right and this still doesn't work, I guess my next step will be to check out your link. I want to try this first, because it was SOOO easy to use and it looks like I am almost there ...

Again, thanks!
