no gif thumbnails, jpeg work fine

after searching the forums and faq's i cant find anyting for gif thumbnails.

my jpg thumbs work fine, even for large pixel files, but i have broken thumbs for gifs.

will memory increase help?

Could be the image toolkit you are using. Does it say it supports .gif images?
Try another image toolkit.
FAQ: I am having trouble configuring a graphics toolkit (ImageMagick, NetPBM or ffmpeg). Help?
