I paused the import yesterday (because I have thousands of photos.)The pics I imported yesterday were there this morning. When I resumed the import, now all the thumbnails and images are blank, yet the import seems to be running. Any suggestions?? Because of the large number of photos, would it be better if I add the albums by scratch instead?
I also tried the following:
- Before running the import, I uploaded a fresh copy of all my photo folders from my local hard drive to my webhost.
- I ran a fresh installation of Gallery3 using a new database.
- I copied my new photo 'uploads' folder to the new gallery install.
- This time instead of importing from Gallery 2, I used the add album/server add feature to get the folders. This time I selected subfolders 1 by 1.
- I tested a small folder with 76 images. Add album completes. Pictures are still blank. When I download the pics to view locally, they display fine. Even the files in the resizes & thumbs folders.
- I'm using Firefox but also have the same issue in IE. Same issue when I simply add new random photos from my local drive.
Any suggestions or did anyone else experience this? Could it be something with my host? It's so strange that the images displayed fine earlier.

Does single file add work?
Are you using a experimental version?
FAQ: How do I upgrade?
Do you have permissions set so that the guest can view?
Any special characters used for any of the items or albums?
URL?
What do you get when you view the source and get the url to the image ( paste that in the browser )?

Thank you for responding!
I'm using Gallery 3.0 beta 3. I ran the upgrade as specified in the FAQ. Everything appeared fine at that point. I added a couple test album by uploading pics from my local drive & that displayed with no problems. Then I began using the import feature and pointed it to my Gallery2's embed.php.
Everything seemed fine at this point. I have about 12,000 images, so after about 4,000 I hit pause on the import, thinking I could resume at a later point. When I resumed, all of the image displays were blank. However, I can still download images via FTP & they look fine on my local machine.
I have permissions set so that only registered users can view the gallery.
I named the gallery in Gallery3, "Darice's New Stuff".
No special characters aside from a '-' in the subfolder names. Some of the imported images might have apostrophes though come to think of it. Some, but not all.
For example:
http://dpix.*******.biz/gallery3/index.php/Darice-s-New-Stuff/uploads/ArtByDuane/IMG_0316watermark
When I view the source code, the link to the image is:
http://dpix.*******.biz/gallery3/var/albums/Darice%27s-New-Stuff/uploads/ArtByDuane.com/IMG_0316watermark.jpg
When I try to view that URL, I get an error saying the link is broken.
When I try this URL: http://dpix.*******.biz/gallery3/var/resizes/Darice%27s-New-Stuff/ArtByDuanecom/IMG_0316watermark.jpg
I get: "Dang....
....
So here's the error:
The page you requested, file_proxy/Darice's-New-Stuff/ArtByDuanecom/IMG_0316watermark.jpg, could not be found.

Does it work without setting permissions?

%27 is a ', which should now get stripped out or handled properly.
I bet if you edit the photo(s)/album(s) and make sure that the Internet Address field doesn't complain about any characters and re-save it, everything will work. So long as you did upgrade. Current version of the Core module should be 17.

Removing the permissions worked! Didn't even think to try that.
So how should I restrict guest users from viewing all my photos?

I'm not sure I understand. So I need to strip the apostrophe out of all the folders & photos in order to have the ability to restrict permissions to registered users only?

First go to Admin > Modules and see what version the Core module is.

Yeah, that's not the latest and doesn't contain the fix for this.
Get the latest experimental code and upgrade. Be sure to follow the tips for unpacking the code to ensure that no old files remain behind:
