Hi!

After an apparently smooth upgrade from 5ab0be3 to 670629f (I was logged in as Administrator during the ftp upload and navigated to the upgrader - everything was fine so far) I finally clicked the logout button and was forwarded to an empty logout page. Several times back and forward produced the same result.

Finally I closed the browser to get logged out...
After closing the browser and opening my gallery again, I was logged out but the login link is now not working (i.e. nothing happens when I click on it)

Also the hint mentioned in http://gallery.menalto.com/node/92157 to navigate to

results in an empty page.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I'm having the same problem after doing the same upgrade yesterday, haven't noticed it until I red your post.
Clicking on Login doesn't work.

Apache/2.2.12 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.12 OpenSSL/0.9.8k mod_autoindex_color
PHP/5.3.0 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0
MySQL: 5.1.37

Perhaps related to Ticket #882 <http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/gallery/ticket/882>?

h_s: it is /gallery3/index.php/login/ajax not /gallery3/login/ajax

There has recently been some changes ( about a hour ago ) to the upgrader:
http://github.com/gallery/gallery3/commit/100a66d861849ab0d78dca84b0b06c1af973752a

Please try again with a git pull and run the upgrader.

I have updated as sugested. (by FTP overwrite, running the updater and placing that file in /var/tmp as authentication)

Afterwards I tried to navigate to www.mygallery.xy/gallery/index.php/login/ajax

but still no page displayed.

Gallery is working but I am not able to login.

Cheers

http://www.langleycom.com/gallery3/index.php/login/ajax
works for me.
Verify that when you upgraded you followed the directions:
FAQ: How do I upgrade?
Make sure there is no extra old files left over.

hm... I also noticed that now the slidshow is not working (nothing is displayed at all) and the "Latest photos and movies" RSS feed is not displaying images as before, but rather (working!) links to images. (Browsing with latest Firefox)

Could you give me a hint how to achieve that whithout e.g. doing a new clean install?

I hope I did not kill my gallery :(

Thank you for your efforts!

Pay attention to the 'Tips for unpacking the code' section where you move the var direcotry and rename the directory.

That new build didn't fix it for me either, now I'm always logged in as admin and when I try to log out I get blank screen. Then I have to close my browser and when I start it again, I'm in as admin.

I don't know what to say but it works for me.
I can't reproduce this.

PM me login info.

So if you've named your directory gallery3 also, you can just unpack the new version over the old version, replacing all the files. If you named your directory something else, you can unpack the new zip file somewhere else and just move the "var" directory from the old install to the new one, then rename your directories until they're right for you.

Unfortunateyl moving var is not possible for me because it is owned by a different user/group (i.e. apache/apache).

Ask your host to change it for you or change permissions.

I sent login info as PM. I Think if you get on my gallery web : http://martan.myphotos.cc/gallery3/ you won't even be able to get to login dialog box.

Got your PM. Thanks. Is this a windows server?

Yes it is , 2008 server R2.
I'm aware it's not supported...until recently everything worked..., except Imagemagick not being recognized, that's another issue I need to solve.

Running following:
Apache/2.2.12 (Win32) DAV/2 mod_ssl/2.2.12 OpenSSL/0.9.8k mod_autoindex_color
PHP/5.3.0 mod_perl/2.0.4 Perl/v5.10.0
MySQL: 5.1.37

@h_s

That's how I always do it. I find the whole renaming and moving of dirs not the best way to do it, especially if your var-dir contains a lot of data and it will take a while to transfer it.

Just remove everything EXCEPT the var-dir, upload the newest git-files and run the upgrader...

Thank you, I appreciate it. If I need to do a fresh new install , no problem, those 4 albums won't take long to add.

Dave, thank you for your help and effort, after upgrading to a latest build about 10 minutes ago, login works great. And I was able to make ImageMagick work with G3 as well, so I'm back in business.
