I've twice installed Gallery2, both stopped showing main.php with all white space and no matrix template modifications.

I've twice installed Gallery2, both stopped showing main.php within a few hours with all white space and no matrix template modifications.
Hosting provider claims to be running PHP 5.2.9 Is there anything I can do to get a gallery 2 install.
