Suddenly my pictures do not show up in the Gallery.
I checked, they are on the server in the Albums, so my guess would be some type of database error.
Here is the linK:

Hope someone can help

Thank you
Lazlo

Thanks Dave, it is a bit over my head.

I just wonder why it had worked for a couple of years with the URL rewrite module active and suddenly it decided to mess up.

Thank you so much for your help

Either you or your host made a change, either purposely for something else or inadvertently and it effected URL Rewrite's behavior. If you clear Gallery's cache (database and template) and re-install and re-configure URL Rewrite it very well could start working again.

Thank you
I have cleared both cache but have no idea how to re-install and re-configure URL rewrite.

But at least now I can see the images.

OK

I found it.
I have re-installed and re-configured URL rewrite, but now I do not see it on the right menu

Be sure that it's activated, go to Site Admin > Plugins and activate the plugin..

Thanks

There seems to be no option for Activate, only install and configure.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled/configured it a couple of times, but when I go back to the Plugins page it always shows that it is not installed

I suspect you are not reading the directions closely enough. http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:Modules:rewrite#Usage

Dave, thanks for the reply.
I tried to do my best, but I am not very good at this.

Was testing if the server supports either Apache mod_rewrite or PHP Path Info.
Both of them failed ( I did make the changes to the .htaccess files.)

After you upgrade and can't get the rewrite module to activate, click the Write to author link with login details and I will have a look.

Got you PM. You are still at:

Quote:
Gallery version = 2.2.2 core 1.2.0.4

After you upgrade

The bold text was not enough?

Anyway I fixed you rewrite issue by activating the module and configured the rules.

Upgrade.

Thanks Dave

Since I know very little about this kind of stuff I shy away from upgrades, all kind of things can go wrong ( which happened even without doing anything, obviously)

What was the cause of the problem ?

I can only assume user error. It is complex and if you don't do it frequently the UI is hard to understand.

Thanks Dave for helping me out with this

When you are a senior citizen a very few things make any sense anymore.
