Removing Breadcrumbs

I have gone through the process of including a modified file in a "local" directory as detailed in http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:How_Do_I_Remove_the_Root_Album_Link however nothing happens. I have also cleared the cache.

Using Gallery 2.3.1

Any clues why it does not change?
