G1 -> G2 -> G3 rewrites

Hi, I am looking at installing G3. I am running 2.3.1 currently and have a bunch of pictures (10k+) that were imported from an old G1 site. I currently have rewriting working fine as a bunch of the pictures were posted on various forums, etc and I needed to preserve their original link. If I upgrade to G3 and import in everything from G2, will the old G2 and G1 links still work or just the G2 ones? Thanks!!

Try it.

Since the rewrite rules to go from G1 to G2 are separate and independent (being placed in the old G1 albums directory), they then get sent to your G2 install, which should then redirect you to your G3 install.

I think it should work....
