Hi,
I have recently downloaded and installed Gallery3 for a relation who would like somewhere to display a selection of his photographs that he has taken over the last 40 years and would like to say thanks for the work as it seems to suit perfectly,
The only real problem that I have had with the site comes when trying to upload batches of photographs of about a 100 or so. The server add option seems to work OK, but I have found it a little unreliable, and clunky. After about 70 photos it sometimes causes the browser to hang. Also when using server add I seem to have to click on every individual photo to select it for upload, is there a way to select the who folder?
I have tried using the browser upload option but I tend to get a lot of upload errors using this method.
Most of the photos are about 1 - 1.5MB
For me to upload it's not really an issue, I just work out where it's gone wrong and start again but for the less computer savvy it's a bit of a problem.
My question is, can anyone recommend an easier and more reliable way to upload to Gallery3?
Many Thanks in advance.

The server add module definitely needs some UI love. It works, but it's probably not great for inexperienced users since it at the very least requires you to push the photos up via some other means.
The browser upload feature should be reliable. I've uploaded hundreds of files without difficulty - what goes wrong when you try?
Also, please upgrade to the latest experimental version (see my signature) as we've made some improvements since RC2.

Thanks for your reply, after reading your post I thought I'd give the browser upload another try. Unfortunately I was still receiving 'IO Error #2038' on nearly every file.
I investigated the error and it's a flash error and unrelated to Gallery3, I switched from using Firefox to using IE and now uploads work perfectly, not sure why but it was suggested in another forum that it could be something to do with the way IE treats urls. Anyway serves me right for not investigating the problem straight away.
Now I'm very happy! As for the version I'm using, after using the upgrader it says version 38, but the dashboard states RC2.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with those errors but Flash definitely has some reliability issues that seem to fix themselves sporadically. All I can say is, keep upgrading to the latest Flash whenever you can.
