How do I export the metadata from Gallery1 into a spreadsheet or a database? Without upgrading or importing into a newer version of Gallery?

We have an old Gallery running on version 1.5.1 housing 4TB of high-res photos, and we want to put it into ContentDM. I'm trying to wrap my head around the flatfile database it uses. How can I convert that data into a speadsheet?

2. Formate the images in a row or in a column.

I'm afraid I also have issues to report with the Random Block.

I'm running PostNuke 0.764 and Gallery 1.5.7.

After no luck getting any code to even work, I used the standalone PHP as laid out in the instructional thread stickied here: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/19050

Weird characters appear on random block

Four random blocks (block-random-enhanced.php) are installed on gallery.header. They are working fine except on top of each block there are some strange characters: ï»¿

The characters can be removed if changing the page view code to UTF-8. So I tried hacking into the albums.php to insert this line above the </head> tag:
