Gallery 2.2.2 Stability Release
Gallery 2.2.2 is now available for download. As a minor stability release it adds no new features and includes bug fixes only.
Over 30 bugs have been fixed in this stability release. Some highlights are:
- Fixed WebDAV for OS X / GNOME clients - Items are now recognized as images
- Fixed fallback theme / theme reset functionality
- Fixed PHP error in fetchWebPage() on too many redirects
- Fixed rewrite rule for embedded core.DownloadItem
- Fixed Upgrade Code for IBM DB2 / MS SQL Server
Read on for more details and upgrade instructions...
Important note for IBM DB2 users:
The upgrade code requires DB2 v9 or later (not v8.2 as previously communicated). As before, the pagesize needs to be 32k.
Upgrading is quick and easy, but if you're upgrading from 2.1 or earlier there are a few things you should know first so be sure to scan the upgrading instructions. Upgrading from Gallery 2.2 or 2.2.1 is even easier since you don't need to replace all your gallery2/ files, but changed files only.
As always before you ask for help, please, please read the README -- we've made an effort to answer all of your questions there. Especially read the known issues section.
Although Gallery 2.2.2 does not come with any new features, Gallery 2.2 had some major additions compared to older releases. See What's new in the Gallery 2.2 release series?.
You don't have to wait for the next major version (Gallery 2.3) to get new features though. Some of the features that will be added in Gallery 2.3 are also available for Gallery 2.2 via Downloadable Plugins from the experimental repository.
Thank you for fixing the Bug 1593803 (Session Data Truncated), i had trouble with it on my site with a gallery named Klavierbank.
I've had problems with the URLRewrite module in Gallery embedded in wordpress for a while now. I will update to this version and hopefully the problem will be solved.
[EDIT]: I updated it and the problem is still there. I think it is from WGP2 but I'm not sure.
Hi, I tried to set up your new release (2.2 full) at my site. No way...the installation script wont work for me. The authenticate file "login.txt" which I had to download and install does not contain the required string which is shown at the screen. Maybe a bug? Even when putting the correct string into the file the installer kept saying "Error: your login.txt key does not match correctly. Please download a new authentication string from below and try again." I tried to comment out the authentication step in the install/index.php script....but the install script dont liked it. I'm running all scripts with PHP Safemode OFF and Register Globals ON, so there should be no problem. Any idea??
Everything seems to be working fine for me. Maybe I don't need extra plugins.
