Gallery v1.3.4 and Gallery Remote v1.0.1 Released!

Three years to the day since Gallery became a SourceForge project, we're pleased to announce the release of Gallery v1.3.4 as well as Gallery Remote v1.0.1.

Gallery v1.3.4 is both a new feature and bugfix release, and is recommended for all Gallery users. New features for v1.3.4 include: the ability to download your gallery to burn to CD or browse offline, additional photo print services, auto-rotation of JPEGs when possible, and the ability to add new customized description fields to photos. In addition, v.1.3.4 fixes numerous minor bugs, and extends support for PHP-Nuke to versions 6.5 and newer, and improves the Windows XP Publishing Wizard interface.

Alongside the new Gallery release comes the release of Gallery Remote v1.0.1, which fixes many bugs, implements HTTP basic authentication, and allows you to save and load Gallery Remote projects.

Website downtime on 6/18 at 9:00 PM PST

The website will be down for a few hours one evening over the next few days. I'll be upgrading the server from a dual PIII 600Mhz VA Linux server to a Dell PowerEdge 2650 with dual 2.4Ghz P4 Xeons, a GB of RAM and a super fast hard drive. If that doesn't make the website fly, I don't know what will :-)

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly when the upgrade will happen and while its happening the website will be unavailable. So if you show up and things are down, go watch Matrix: Reloaded again and come back in a few hours.

6/19/2003 Update: The website upgrade is complete! The entire transition took less than 45 minutes and was fairly painless.

Gallery v.1.3.4 Release Candidate 3 Available

After discovering some minor bugs in the Configuration Wizard for RC2, we've decided to issue a third release candidate to allow for some final broad-range testing before we issue the version 1.3.4.

We encourage you to install RC3 and to report any problems you find, though we've done extensive testing on multiple platforms, and are confident you won't run into trouble.

Gallery v.1.3.4 Release Candidate 2 Available

This is the second (and, we fully expect, final) *release candidate* for Gallery v.1.3.4. Thanks to everyone who installed the first release candidate and reported back to us! Changes from RC1 amount to a small number of bugfixes discovered since the first release candidate in the new album backup script and the new "custom fields" code.

We encourage you to install RC2 and report any problems you find, though we're confident that there will be few if any changes needed before the final release.
