Hello,

I would like to be able to email a link to friends so that they may login to one of my non-public albums without entering a password or creating an account. The basic type of security and share-ability I am interested is available via other photo sharing sites like picassa - maybe you've viewed an album via an email link before? Any clues to how I can do this? Can you help me write a URL that will do this?

- I haven't found a built in feature in gallery 2 to allow this, but maybe I've missed it?

- While searching for solutions I found an 'article' or blurb that showed (I think) that one can paste a 'url link' that will automatically login to the admin account - which lead me to believe there is a way for non registered users to do so for albums as well.

Info from the above mentioned article:

http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:FAQ

"How to manually login

Are you able to login manually? You can try to login manually with http://www.example.com/gallery/main.php?g2_controller=core.UserLogin&g2_form[formName]=UserLogin&g2_form[action][login]=Login&g2_form[username]=admin&g2_form[password]=secret (replace "secret" with your own password).

Copy and paste the stuff in bold. Don't forget to change secret to your password. If you've also changed the admin username from admin you'll need to change that as well."

Problem is, I'm not techy enough to figure out what (if any) url link would automatically log someone in. I understand that I have less control over individual users who log in and that they could forward the email or post it online, making it available for 'non-invited' guests - I'm not concerned about this. I mainly just don't want my images to come up on search results, etc.

- If it is possible for such an URL to be written, could someone suggest what would work? Also would the recipient then be logged on as a 'guest'? ( If so, I suppose I could control their access to features by controlling the permissions for the guest on this album or all albums?)

thanks!
