New user here, trying to get started...I loaded the G3 folder into my webfiles on my server, created the var folder, set the permissions to 777, created the MySQL database with username and password...but the log-in gives me this error message. Error message: We were unable to connect to your MySQL server with the username and password that you provided. Please go back and try again! I have checked and rechecked to make sure the name and password are accurate in the log-in. Any ideas why I can not get it to work? My host is webair.com Thanks Galen |

If you're sure your password and username are correct, then either your database name or hostname you're trying to use are incorrect. |

thanks for your ideas...but I am also using the database and host name as clear as I can tell. G3 auto inputs "localhost" for host name, I tried that and also the host as it is listed in the directory path for the var folder. I knowing nothing of MySQL, but my host allows me to create a database and names it. The admin/dashboard creates the MySQL db in my general account that holds 5 websites. It does ask where it should be located or what website it relates to. There is a "manage" function for the db, but nothing there seemed to allow the db to be specified to a particular location, but virtually evferything under the manage button was way over my head as far as what any of it did. Is there something more I need to do to the MySQL db? My host is webair.com Thanks for feedback Galen |
