404 Error because of index.php/

I have not found anything in the forums about this when doing a quick look. I am finding a problem where if I click on links within gallery 3 that are directed to the main page of the gallery or when I am trying to do a redirect from my old gallery 2 it goes to index.php/ The problem is that with the / I keep getting a 404 error. If I delete the / everything loads fine. Any suggestions?

I don't know why the slash is causing a problem. My Gallery3 install still works when I use the slash.
But, also, my Gallery3 install doesn't generate the slash in the first place.
I'd have to assume it's an issue with your htaccess file.
Start by looking at any redirects and rewrites you've included.
