A bit stuck, I need people to upload, but need the images to be approved.

I want to use Gallery 3 for a system where users can upload images to an upload album, but these images then become invisible until after an admin (me) has approved and sorted them into their appropriate categories. There's apparently no image approval plugin for Gallery 3, and the permissions aren't quite as in-depth as they would need to be to allow this sort of thing on the fly; I can set the special upload album up to be visible to everyone and everyone have access to it, so they can upload, but there's no permission setting for images in that album so images are all visible to everyone as well. Changing the album so that people have the ability to upload but it's visibility is limited doesn't work, since then although people have access to it they can't see it to get access to it. I mean ideally if albums had an extra set of permissions for images put into them that'd be the solution. Can anyone help me out here? I'm not a developer, I haven't got the first clue about programming and scripting so I can't really do this myself. Of course if a plugin does already exist that does this (though I couldn't find it), please do tell me. Thanks. |

If you need this functionality now, use G2. It has a very complex set of permission settings where you could accomplish this. Version 3.1 of G3 is going to have a permission overhaul, but I don't know if you'd still be able to do this with G3 and there is no ETA on when that version will be released.
