My website (PARR) is www.potomacarearoadriders.org and is hosted on www.easgcgi.com. I had Gallery 1 installed and it was working fine. I wanted to upgrade to Gallery two and I'm not sure what I did wrong Maybe I installed rather than migrate, I don't know. I've managed to uninstalled Gallery 2 and reinstall it. This is done via the host site. When I click on the link to the Gallery from the PARR website I get the following error: Warning: main(\\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b48\ez.nomadbike/modules/core/classes/Gallery.class) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in \\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b48\ez.nomadbike\bootstrap.inc on line 33 Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '\\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b48\ez.nomadbike/modules/core/classes/Gallery.class' (include_path='.;c:\php\4\pear') in \\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b48\ez.nomadbike\bootstrap.inc on line 33 PLEASE HELP!!!!!! |

Shared host, Windows and Gallery? Good luck. You're going to need access to be able to change permissions for one thing.
\\boswinfs01\home\users\web\b48\ez.nomadbike/modules/core/classes/Gallery.class
That looks like they are hosting your files on a network share. That's an even bigger recipe for disaster, well at least very piss-poor performance.
They're still running PHP 4 too....
I'd suggest finding a different host, these guys are so far behind the times it's hilarious.

in the gallery2 directory files should be 644 and directories should be 755 which can be achieved by the following:
from a shell
-s
FlashYourWeb and Your Gallery with The E2 XML Media Player for Gallery2

Something is messed up and cannot be solved through general descriptions put here. I believe it needs someone to have access to the site to resolve.
Best person is you yourself but you suggest you don't know enough to tackle it. You can ask your host for help but they may not be intimately familiar with G2 so you may have to engage someone from this site to fix it for you.
The first thing to do now is to roll back to the backup you took before you started the upgrade process.

The host adimns came back and said I need the file modules/core/classes/Gallery.class. His suggestion is to restore from aback up or reinstall. Typical of many ITers I did not do a backup before loadiong Gallery 2. And I've reinsalled several times. I figure those directorys and file should be there from the install, and told them that.
I have modules/core but an missing the classes directory/folder and the Gallery.class file. Is it possible to get default ones from soneone here?
Would much appreicate the help, my bike buddies are ready to drag and quarter me for not having a picture gallery working.

There is a link to the gallery2 file set in the top right hand corner of every page on this site.
Download a copy and replace the missing files.
Obviously download the same version as you installed on the site.
The current version of G2 is v2.3.1.

finally renamed the g2data and modules folders and redid the install, essentially a new install. That worked fine. then had an issue with displaying the pictures. Could not even see them using the file manager for the web host (that apparently a lot of people don't like).
I was getting an IIS error. They fixed that but still can not see the pictures by drilling down through main.php. If I put the full name in the URL, that them the pointers you get from drilling down, the pictures display. So I know they are there.
I tried to open a differnt ticket on this but the Gallery.menalto.com spam filter didn't like something in the posting.
The input you guys put here has been great and I'll discuss relocating our website with my club. Any help on the display issue is also appreciated.
