I can't find out which plugin I am missing to get the Java slideshow (not Javascript) working.
For error message see: no-script.galerie.priv.at/v/1989-04+gran+canaria/slideshowapplet.html

The remote-plugin is activated.

I need a slideshow for G2, which doesn't need Javascript or Flash.

I can't discuss, if it is crazy. Important visitors of my gallery want a gallery, which doesn't need javascript. For "normal" users, I will switch with my main gallery to Gallery 3, but for some users I keep a limited version with G2 and the Matrix theme.

So maybe someone can tell me, which plugin I am missing?

studies show that far less than 1% of internet users have javascript disabled and are likely the truly paranoid.

The G2 slideshow module has a flash based slideshow w/ javascript fallback.

If your visitor doesn't trust you enough to enable js on your site then he can miss out.

It doesn't count what the masses think. If a big company decides to disable javascript, I can't do anything against it. It is not a question, if a visitor trusts me personally.

I am unsure, what works and what not, when Javascript is disabled with G3. It looks like mainly the slideshow doesn't, which is necessary to view the images in full screen too.

I don't think the java items are working anymore ... I think I have seen stuff about the security certificate expiring or similar.

Your best bet might be to remove slideshows altogether and let these users press the "next" button as required since what is essentially a basic requirement of displaying web pages today has been ruled out.

I personally wouldn't bother with users so ignorant (resulting in such irrational fears) and if indeed javascript has been disabled by a "big" company, you can be sure that with such an attitude, they wouldn't be big for very long.
