Making new albums available to registered users only

Good evening everyone,

Does anyone know of a way to make new albums visible only to registered users by default? I am happy with the existing permissions on my existing albums, but have just got an EyeFi SD card (which automatically creates new folders and automatically uploads new photos to them, using the admin login) and since some of these photos are going to be of my young family I want to make sure only my family and friends (who are all registered users) can access them before I vet them.

I'm currently using Gallery v2.3

Many thanks in advance.

DNL

Sorry - should have been clearer: by default EyeFi creates a new (date-stamped) folder every time it starts an upload. The only time it doesn't create a new album is if it has already created one on that day. I want to keep it that way. My question is how can I make these new albums accessible to reg users only.

TIA.

Can't you control which album the new albums get created under?
set the permissions to reg users only and check the box:
"Apply changes

This item has sub-items. The changes you make here can be applied to just this item, or you can apply them to all sub-items. Note that applying changes to sub-items will merge your change into the existing permissions of the sub-items and may be very time consuming if you have many sub-items. It's more efficient to grant permissions to groups and then add and remove users from groups whenever possible. Changes are applied to sub-items by default. "

Hi,

Thanks again. I know I can work around this specific EyeFi issue (eg as suggested above), but my question is broader than just this example, namely can I change the default settings for new albums so that they are only visible to Registered Users only? The only way I can see how to do it is to apply this setting to the whole Gallery (including sub items) but that would entail having to manually reinstate "Everybody" privileges for my existing albums, which I'd rather not have to do.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks.
