Autosync album with directory on server

Hello,

i run a local file server with media files. The files are mostly uploaded using samba or there are automatically added using a card reader to a a directory (with subdirectories).

Now i want to run apache2+gallery3 to make the photos browseable with a webbrowser.

I tried the serveradd module, but this is not really what i want. The pictures should stay in the original directory.

Is it possible to use a link or something to trigger Gallery3 to use my directory for the albums AND sync automatically (or at least on request) with galleries database.
