Server add issue, can only see alphabet, but no others

Dear All

hi, good day,
Recentally I've tried to installed Gallery under Unbuntu system and Fedora 15 system
but both come out the same result, which is:

the "Server Add" works, no matter with space or deeper folders, but the problem is
I am a Taiwanese, most of the folders I had renamed with date and description(in Chinese)

it just won't be able to show up under "Server Add" select folder, can anyone help to
give me a direction where I can resolve this problem?

I will place some example (in Taiwan, it should be in big-5 format)

1. a.dir (working)
2. a a.dir (working)
3. abc.dir (working)
4. 2011 年 (not working)
5. 2011 年 10 月 01 日 - 攝影 (not working)

the 5th is the standard format for my photo folder naming.

beside, I had another QNAP NAS, it has provided a Gallery3 to use,(under QPKG mode can be download from their website)

by running on the QNAP, it works fine with all the chinese words and naming,
doest have any problem.

but just because the QNAP with 1.2G cpu just toooooo slow
whatever pictures I upload it takes more then 3~5 mins to complete 1

so I can only try to build a PC to run the system
