I have been going round and round with godaddy. The codex says this stuff is supposed to be easy - can it really be easy? I can no longer find the codex that recomended g2 supported hosting companies.
I finally got everything installed and cannot upload photos after adding htaccess files and php.ini and php5.ini and making changes at suggestion of go daddy in my grid server settings to remove cgi. Is this all host created issues?
Many Thanks!

I have done a 6th install, being very careful at each step. Zen cart is integrated but I cannot upload photos into g2 through a browser or through gallery remote. I believe these issues are host related (godaddy). There used to be information on g2 affiliate web hosts and g2 certified web hosts in these forums - but I can no longer find it. If you are running g2 & zencart 1.3 and have had a good experience with your hosting company being able to support these product please share the name of your hosting company.
Many Thanks!

Well I am answering this post myself now based on my experience. Support was very week at companies recommended in the hosting referrals link above. While not perfect, I have had excellent support with Host Gator. With both Phone and email support available, I found them able to help solve issues and get my Gallery2 Zen Cart site up & running. With patience and understanding on my part that this stuff is not easy they worked with me on 3rd party unsupported applications to resolve issues using the resources of this codex. I rate them a 4.25 out of 5
If your with Godaddy - do not even try to use these applications - they will never get it to work regardless of the server you are on.

I agree entirely. Godaddy is definitely a "no go" Godaddy. Also agree with jtb2589, Hosthator usually provide rapid tech support, although it can take a few attempts to get them to understand and reply correctly to the questions. But usually get there in the end!
