Hi: I installed gallery 1.5. Not Found Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. What did I do wrong? I checked on the remote side of the server and the view_album.php is there. The URL is http://wrap4asmile.org/gallery Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

Gallery1 is very old. The last time its code was updated was 11/2008 and was likely just a security update.
Gallery3 would be more suitable for today's hosting environments, And is a direct replacement for Gallery1 - I suggest you give it a try instead.

The problem is that for Gallery 3, you would need to have a working gallery and only then, you can import it. I tried that before.
I was able to move a number of galleries from an older version 1.x to 1.5 without too much trouble so I was hoping I could do the same here...

make sure the filesystem permissions on view_album.php are at least 644

Hey Sylvie.
it might be, that the redirect feature is broken.
Do you have access to the webspace and could modify files?

Jens,
What file would I have to modify?

I changed the permissions of this file to 644, but it didn't help.
I still get:
The requested URL /wrap4asmile.org/gallery/view_album.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I'm very frustrated since I now the same problem in 4 galleries. and one was working before..
I have one gallery under the root, which is working.
The 4 other galleries are in subfolders and are not working.
What could be the problem?
I reuploaded everything from the working gallery to one that is in a subfolder (except for the config file and .htaccess.
To no avail...

Hello,
There is a config.php. Please open it, there a so called "rewrite" feature. Set this to 0.
Does this help?
