Quick question: Is there any danger in switching to PHP 5 on a Gallery Installation that's currently running on PHP 4?

As long as you are running Gallery 2.3.1 or Gallery 3 AND your PHP install that you are going to upgrade to meets the requirements, no, you'll be fine and it'll go smooth and work just fine.

You might want to make sure you are up to date with G2 as well as not just php5.
