how to change Gallery picture shuffle on the home page

Upon installation and setting up gallery... the software automatically shuffled several pictures and pasted them on the home page. Now, everytime I open Gallery, I see my friends kids... cute but, I do not want to look at her kidw all the time. I have tried resetting the setting but nothing is working... please advise. I want to remove pictures from being displayed or, select ones I want. Thank you
