No access to gallery after installation

Hello,

i have installed Gallery3 (3.0.3) successful, the only change was to put the var directory to another drive, so i change in installer/index.php the line with VARPATH to define("VARPATH", "/data2/gallery/var/");

After doing the job with the MySQL DB i got

Success!
Your Gallery 3 install is complete!

Clicking on the link with Start using Gallery go back to the same screen, again and again.
Also using http://ip-adr/gallery3/index.php will give me the same page with the Success message.

I can't put the var directory into my gallery3 root directory (which works), because i am short on space there, so i need to move the var directory to another drive.

Any idea?

I have never been able to get this to work: FAQ: I want to move my /var directory
others have, so you can try. Also sym-links seem to work as well. I have never tired as I have never needed to.

A symlink was the solution for me. After a new installation, i have created a symlink to the var folder, which works fine for me now.
