I did a search and found a couple of other threads - in particular this one: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/69671

So I reloaded the bootstrap.inc file and now the error I get is this:

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.bd-shop.co.uk/G2/install/index.php?step=8. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

This is very frustrating.

Please can somebody help me?

make sure your directories are 755 and files are 644 and g2data is 777 recursively.

I have rechecked everything and it still fails.

... and then I found one file was missing in the G2 root ...

Now working
