Hello everybody,

i installed gallery3 using the my.server/gallery3/installer/.
It worked pritty well! Only changing the /var direktory was a bit difficould.

Now I get the following information on my screen...

Quote:
Success!

Your Gallery 3 install is complete!
Start using Gallery

'Start using Gallery' is a link to my.server/gallery3/.

If I click them. The page is reloading, but I stay at the same page.

What's going wron here?

Nice weekend

It should have created that directory for you. If you had to create it make sure that the webserver has write permissions on that directory. It will create a file to store the DB info and I bet that did not work.

Hi Dave,

thanks a lot for your answer.

Yes, the /var direktory was created automaticaly.

But i don't want to have them on de default place. so I canged the place of it to my choise '/media/DatenRAID/...'

EIDT:
I got the feeling there is maybe something wrong with the configuration of apache webserver?!?

FAQ: I want to move my /var directory
There is a faq for moving the var directory. I have never been successful, but never tired much either, as I don't need to move it.
Some have been successful in using sym-links.

Dave

OK. I got the follwing message:

Quote:
[Mon Jun 25 22:20:26 2012] [warn] The Alias directive in /etc/apache2/conf.d/gallery3 at line 1 will probably never match because it overlaps an earlier Alias.

after modifying this:

Quote:
sudo nano /etc/apache2/conf.d/gallery3

and then doing this:

Quote:
sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload

the situation has changed.

now the message is:

Quote:
Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /gallery3/ on this server.

I'm getting closer to the problem ;-)
