Has anyone installed Gallery on Lion or the new Mountain Lion servers yet? If so any detailed instructions out there? I'm thinking of making this move.
Tom, I don't think that would even be a wise choice "server" wise... But if you can get php and mysql installed you can pretty much get Gallery installed.

Well not sure why you don't think it would be a wise choice but I do think both PHP and mysql are installed. I guess I'll play with it and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.
Well it seems that PHP and Mysql are all running and I started the installation. I got as far as the database part but when I put in my username and password for the data base I get this:
"We were unable to connect to your MySQL server with the username and password that you provided. Please go back and try again!"
I know it is set up because I can use a Terminal window and login with the name and passwords I supplied in Gallery and can also verify that the database (gallery3) does exists. I'm thinking it may be a permissions problem from the web server but not sure where to look.
I'm not a Mac person, so can someone tell me if Mountain Lion v10.8 is the right one?
I'm pulling that now and building a VMware session after the weekend. I'll try to document it the best I can but I might need some other input from you Mac people.

At least its unix, so it should be easy enough if you install MAMP

I think it really just comes down to experience. It works on just about every platform. Windows/*ix etc.
Would be nice to see someone document it too.
I might throw a VMware session up and do it if I get bored.

http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:FAQ#What_information_is_required_when_I_ask_for_help_in_the_forums.3F <--- That explains how to make a Phpinfo.php and verify PHP is running. Try that.

It really works on Mountain Lion. Thanks for the advice that IP issue helped for local host.

Thanks Tom!
I got it running now.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I should install first? I'm probably going to google for a bit because my mac skills are non existent. ;)
