I found today that our website can not be accessed until I've done the upgrade. I am not familiar with what to do. The person who developed our web site is no longer available.

So I need help as what to do. Below you will find a copy of where I'm stuck at this point.

I don't know what I'm to do with what's on the link you posted.
http://www.flashyourweb.com/staticpages/index.php?page=minislideshow_redux

Am I to copy and paste the code? If so, where do I put it?

maybe you should look at the first link, and not the link in my signature.

Unless of course you're interested in my minislideshow.

I'm sorry. I'm new to all of this, so I assumed that the second link was another resource for me to look at.

I did go to the first link. I'm still confused as to what I'm looking for in order to fix the problem.

Your gallery reports:

Quote:
Error: Some files and or directories in your storage directory are not writeable by the webserver user. Run chown -R webserverUser /hermes/web10/b2515/pow.lindasardou/htdocs/rl_g2data/ OR run chmod -R 777 /hermes/web10/b2515/pow.lindasardou/htdocs/rl_g2data/.

That is exactly the topic of the referenced thread.

OK, but how do I go about doing that? Like I said, the person who set out web site up for us is no longer available. I have not done any of the technical stuff, so it's all Greek to me.

The instructions say to: Run chown -R webserverUser /hermes/web10/b2515/pow.lindasardou/htdocs/rl_g2data/ OR

run chmod -R 777 /hermes/web10/b2515/pow.lindasardou/htdocs/rl_g2data/.

I apologize for my lack of knowledge in this.

FAQ: How can I fix the filesystem permissions of the Gallery storage folder?

if you read the other thread from 3 days ago, that user could not solve the issue themselves, and enlisted me to do it for them.
IF you cannot figure it out yourself from the links I have supplied, I can do the same for you... but we try to encourage users to learn instead.

Normally, I would tackle things that are unfamiliar. However, when it comes to doing the in depth technical stuff on computers, I get overwhelmed with trying to figure these things out. I have messed our web site up before while trying to fix things, so unless I have had experience with similar issues and or programs I stay clear.

I've had your Gallery program for several years and have never had problems. So I do thank you for a great service and would truly appreciate your help.

Your FTP host cannot be powweb
it would be more like ftp.yoursite.com
