Hi there,

I did a while ago a backup of my Gallery2 set up before upgrading to G3.

I may have done something wrong, because I ran into quite a few issues when I tried to access my G2 gallery.

Most of them are fixed by now.
Yet, when I try to reach an album, my browser directs me to a "loading failure" page, with an error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): there would be a redirection loop somewhere...

I tried the obvious solutions (cookies removal for example), but it didn't work.

I suspect there is an error somewhere in one of the configuration files on the G2 install, but I don't know where...

Does anyone know where I could have a look at?

Since I was about to proceed to an upgrade to G3, is it worth looking for a solution? will the issue still remain after the upgrade??

Thanks a lot for your help,

Q.

when you upgraded to G3 you likely requested redirect from G2 to G3
rename gallery2/.htaccess to something else

Hi,

Thanks,

just tried it.
After having renamed .htaccess in .htaccess.old, and navigating through the albums, I now run into a 404 error:
"the requested url /v/album name was not found on this server...

sorry for these questions, there must be something to do somewhere to fix this but I really can't figure this out by myself...

that is because your gallery2 has the rewrite module enabled.
create a new .htaccess leaving .htaccess.old in place in case you want to switch back.
head to gallery admin -> rewrite and re-setup your rewrite rules.
