Missing languages after upgrading to 1.4-pl2

This is a newbie question, I guess...

Today I upgraded from gallery 1.4-pl1 to 1.4-pl2.
(Downloaded and installed gallery-1.4-pl2.tar.gz)
However, when I run the configuration wizard, only two of 29 languages are shown, where I earlier could choose from a whole bunch. Now all I can choose from is English (US) and Cesky. This is the warning I get:

"Check to see what languages are available
Warning! Only 2 of 29 possible languages are available. If you want the missing languages, download a fresh copy of Gallery from http://gallery.sourceforge.net"

I thought downloading the latest version would ensure that I got "all" languages. Can someone tell me how to solve this problem?

Which files are used for this Multi Language feature, and where are they located? Could there be some permission problem? (installing or upgrading gallery is in my opinion always a big mess regarding file permissions)

What can I do to be able to choose from other languages than Cesky and English?

Languages are in the gallery/locale directory. What's in there?

OK, thanks a lot!

Found the languages, and I immediately found the error:

cs_CZ was the only directory in gallery/locale with execute permissions set for all, while the others were read only. I have no idea why it was like this, but now that I have changed the permissions, it works fine.
