"Gallery 2 Import" module: I get a blank page but my G2 is the latest version

I'm trying to use the G2 import module but after I give it the path to the embed.php file I get a blank page.
I read that you must upgrade to Gallery 2.3.1 to solve that problem, but that's my version (2.3.1 core 1.3.0.1 ).
I looked at the logs in var/logs but all I have is an empty file that says "<?php defined('SYSPATH') or die('No direct script access.'); ?>" and no actual log.

What can I do.
Also, my gallery is pretty big, 2800 albums and 65000 photos, do you think the module would be able to import all that? I read of some people getting stuck after 12000 photos. Does it depend on the server?

You can either enable Debug mode to see what's really going on behind the blank page, or FTP into your site and download /var/logs/{today's date}.php.
