Installation problem: web server does not allow chmod

Hi,

The web server where I want to install my gallery doesn't allow any chmod.
This is a free provider (free.fr) which gives 100Mo of space for any use, providing php, etc..., but for security reasons, lots of properties are discarded.
Is there another way to configure Gallery without modifying the file permissions?

No. In order for the webserver to maintain files in your directory, it needs permissions to write to the directory. At the least this requires you to chmod your albums directory to the right permissions.
