How to have multiple gallery3 installations

I have one gallery3 installation running on a Debian server, and all the albums/photos are associated with one web site. I want to create another web site with a totally different set of albums/pictures, but on the same server. Do I just create a new gallery installation under /var/www/ (i.e. /var/www/gallery3_1 and /var/www/gallery3_2) and a new mysql database with a different user/password/db name (ie start with a clean installation under /var/www/gallery3_2 and run the installer)? Or, is there a better way to share the codebase between the two instances?

I google for an answer and looked in the FAQs, and I learned that (1) gallery2 had the option for multiple sites from one installation, but that functionality was not included in gallery3 and (2) the above plan seems to be the solution. I just want to confirm that is what I should do.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, just do a clean install of G3, from scratch, in a new folder; there's no shared codebase. You can share the db if you want, but it's better (IMO) to use a new database for each Gallery install

G2 had a multi-site option, but the G2 install was also a lot "heavier" than G3. It's not really needed for G3.

I dont really get this sql thingy. Is there any way I can easily just add a decent and free gallery extension or something to dreamweaver and sort it out just as easy like in wp??
Thanks

@London: I have no idea what you're talking about. Is this related to the initial thread topic ("How to have multiple gallery3 installations"), or is this really something that needs a new thread?
