Gallery 3.0.4, CentOS 6.3, Blank Screen

Greetings - I recently upgraded my web server from CentOS 5.x to 6.3, and was rewarded with a blank screened gallery. In perusing the forum, I see that a common issue is with PHP v5.4. However, CentOS' default is PHP 5.3. I think I have all of the right bits and pieces installed and configured but I still get nothing. As an experiment, I tried a completely new install of Gallery 3, and I can't even get it to run the installer; I'm still presented with a blank page. Nothing shows up in the Apache error logs and I'm not sure where else to look. http://gallery.lateapex.net/phpinfo.php If there are any other bits of info I can provide, by all means: fire away. Gallery 3.0.9, CentOS 6.4, display a blank page too.
When I access gallery3/installer/, the page dispaly a warn message note that needed install mbstring extension.
#yum install php-mbstring;
and restart apache, It works.
