I'm trying to hide the date, view counters etc. and was show the code to edit under 'themes'. When I go to themes, I don't see any html code, so not sure how to get started. Do I need no find my Gallery2 folder on my server and open with Dreamweaver or can i edit directly by logging into the browser?

Ok great, but where is the 'theme' folder found? I'm logged into Gallery2 as an administrator and am using the interface on the webrowser to try and make these changes. If I click on 'Themes' there is no place to make a new folder or edit html. I don't remember downloading Gallery2 Software on my machine, but maybe I did. Should I be looking for that and editing using Dreamweaver or other?

Some themes have options to show/hide owner and other info in the user interface, but the page I linked above discusses editing theme templates directly with a text editor like notepad++ (don't use crappy dreamweaver it will corrupt your files)
theme templates are located in gallery2/themes/your theme/templates
