Hi guys,
We are looking at moving an existing site, where people who have run in fun-runs, marathons etc have their pics uploaded overnight - over the next few days they search by bib number/surname see a watermarked photo which can they pay for and we send a print to them.
AS anyone adopted Gallery for a bulk photo upload type site, where thousands of pics can be uploaded in batch form. Then searched for and downloaded by users on a user pay basis?
Also is there a way to ID a number within an image? and then match it to an external database? Eg. A bib number on a runner being matched to the runners name etc. At the moment we have to ID each photo individually
Finally is there a database of companies that can modify Gallery professionally?
Cheers
TIA

Tags module would be a good fit for bib numbers. You get as much data out as you put in.

Would you mind making available a few images - I'm thinking that a an OCR on the image may be able to pull the bib number off the image and based on 'certainty' make it a tag available for the image during upload.
I've got some ideas, but it would require quite a bit of coding, and more than likely specific programs installed to make it all work.
First big tackle though would be getting the bib number from OCR'ing the image.
