Firstly I hope I have posted in the correct place as I don't use forums much!
I have 4000 textures that I want to host as a free site. I have tried others but there always seems to be some drawback with one thing or another. My current site is really nice but people using it HAVE to create an account before downloading their fee images and I don't want to be dealing with customer issues and questions as it's a 'no frills' free site.
I've created a test Gallery Project site to have a look around and things look good. There are two things that will decide if I commit to the Gallery Project path.
Please bear in mind I have limited/little coding skills...
Question 1:
I'm hoping to put advertisng banners on the site but not Adsense as I'm not keen on them. Is it easy to modify, with the help of a developer, space for outside ads? - they must be easy to locate so that code can be stripped in for the actual ads. If it can be done would there be anybody involved with the project who could help achieve this?
Question 2:
I want a slick minimalist look, a good example is www dot viewbook dot com or www dot apple dot com to get an idea. If I design the look and feel (I'm a professional graphic artist) and provide the icons is there anybody who would be interested in turning it into an actual theme?
Thanking you in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Q1: depending on where you want the adverts there is a module for that or you just need to add the code to your theme. If you need specific directions you will need to let us know exactly where the add should go and what theme you are using. or a screenshot and a url.
@Q2: my time is limited so I would not be interested in creating a new theme however others might and there is also the: http://galleryproject.org/forum/65 where you can get people to give quotes for you if you want.

Thank you Dave. I'm making up a new design in Photoshop and will show it off in the forum soon to see if there's any interest.
