How do I grab the URL address of the slideshow so I can paste it in a link?
I have been using Gallery 2 to hold the pictures and to create slideshows for my website for a number of years and have really liked it.

I use Drupal 7 for my main website, which contains text, pictures and used to contain slideshows. To see what I'm trying to accomplish, go to this web page: Winters Sewing, Furniture Pictures and Slideshows. Scroll down the page and click on any of the links on the right side that say "Click here to see the slide show". You will notice that a small window pops up with a slideshow in it. All I have to do to create these slideshow windows is start the slideshow going in the web gallery and then grab the address from the URL and the pasted it into the link function of the WYSIWYG editor in Drupal. Then choose to open the link in a popup window. I really like creating these slideshows that don't take up the whole screen, and the website visitor can still see the picture page beneath the slide shows. They can also easily close the slideshow to open another while still remaining on the main page.

In the past when I had all my pictures in Gallery 2 I created these type of popup slideshow windows with no problem. Now that I'm trying to switch to Gallery 3 I see it has the Cool Iris slideshow function. However, try as I might, I can't figure out how to get the URL address of the slideshow so that I can put it into the link in Drupal to create the small popup slideshows. (Currently the pictures for those popup slideshows are coming from a Picasa web album.)

Although those Cool Iris slide shows pretty, they are not very useful to me when there seems to be no way to get a link from them for my website. Can you or anyone think of any solutions to this challenge?

In the past, when I was using Gallery 2 I could grab the slideshow URL address out of the browser URL and paste that it into link. In Gallery 3, since I couldn't figure out how to get the link info from the Cool Iris slideshow I've installed the minislide module. Here I'm stopped again, all it gives is an embed code. (I don't know how to use an embed code. I've researched it on the Internet and in these forums and have tried a number of times to paste it in the WYSIWYG window, into the plain text window, etc. using various methods and options, etc. Haven't found any way to use the minislide embed code.)

Being able to create the popup slideshows is of the most important functions that I need in a web gallery software. Is there any way I can use Gallery 3 for that, as I have explained above?

So, back to my question, is it possible to somehow grab the URL address of the slideshow so I can paste it into a link?
Thanks,

Best Wishes,
Stephen

Never tried:

Docs are not that clear but might work or what you want to do.

Thanks for trying Dave. However, I've tried and tried to figure out how to get a link but have repeatedly been unsuccessful.

Thanks for the links. The slideshows look really nice, and like they might possibly be workable. However, I haven't been able to make heads or tails of what to do with the Java code on this page that you linked to.

I really like Gallery 2 and Gallery 3, but still have figured out what to do next. I keep looking at it every so often, but have hit a brick wall. Thanks for trying to help.

Best Wishes,
Stephen.
